Government Polytechnic, Dahod is established in 1959 with an intention to produce skilled technicians in tribal areas of Dahod District in Gujarat. The Institute main building is constructed in 1963 with campus land area of 47 acres (19 hectares). The Library has been established in 522.00 sqmt at the first floor of LRUC building.

with facilities for students reading room with seating capacities of 40-45 students & Audio-Video room. Library is equipped with the latest editions of books, which are more than 18000 in numbers for the Diploma Courses being conducted in the Institute. Library also equipped with the latest non-print media like Videocassettes, transparencies, multimedia projector, cds, etc. Library also has books lending facilities for the tribal students like Tribal Sub Plan books Scheme. Library also provides their valuable services with latest magazines/journals and various newspaper to their esteemed users.

 ·         As a technical library, library staff also provides their services to the various industries, Central Railway, Gujarat Electricity Board and other Govt. Institutes with their available resources like print media and non-print media.
